At the recently concluded 2024 Mad Stars event held in Busan, South Korea, IMPACT BBDO led the MENA region once again with a haul of eight trophies, including one of the two Grands Prix of the Year given at the festival.

With over 20,000 global entries and 63 countries represented in 2024, Mad Stars is the biggest award show in Asia – this year’s edition was launched under the theme of “AIM: Aim Marketing Success with AI.”

IMPACT BBDO won the Grand Prix of the Year in Public Service Advertising for their work on UN Women – “Child Wedding Cards.” Produced by Shiny Toy Guns and Karma Kollectiv, the campaign has also won a Grand Prix at Cannes Lions earlier this year.

Additionally, the agency brought home a Grand Prix in Print for Lebanese newspaper AnNahar’s and its campaign titled “The AI President,” which is the world’s first functioning AI leader of a country built through 90 years of data collected from AnNahar’s journalism archives. The campaign went on to pick up a Gold, Silver and Bronze in other categories.

“Audio Nikahnama” for easypaisa also picked up two Silvers.

This is the third year in a row that IMPACT BBDO has led the MENA region at MAD STARS, previously being crowned as the global agency of the year. In 2024, the honor has gone to Dentsu Inc.

Ali Rez, Chief Creative Officer for IMPACT BBDO, said, “Our wins at Mad Stars showcase some of our boldest work, not only demonstrating business success through the use of AI, but solving problems through low-tech solutions when necessary. No matter the brief, an effective solution is reached through bold creativity in an environment where we believe that no idea is too crazy.”
