Mark Fiddes has taken on the role of executive creative director at Havas UAE.

A former executive creative director at DraftFCB London and European creative director at global data-driven marketing company Epsilon, Fiddes represents an “exciting step-change for Havas UAE in creative leadership, mentorship [and] philosophy”. He replaces Ciaran Bonass, who left the agency to pursue other opportunities.

“We have built an exciting, sharp, energetic team of diverse talent,” said Bronson Smithson, general manager of Havas UAE. “Mark adds further spark and brilliant creative leadership. He has already contributed ideas and mentorship that have lifted the whole agency. We’re all excited about what we can achieve.”

Fiddes is one of the UK’s most experienced creative directors and his move to Dubai represents a return to Havas, having previously worked as global creative director at Euro RSCG Worldwide (now Havas Worldwide).

“It’s so very energising to work with talents across the agency,” said Fiddes. “There’s a real buzz here following the new business momentum at the end of last year. And our clients are opening real opportunities for bold creative expression across all media. On a personal level, it’s wonderful to be working alongside Bronson again at Havas. It’s rare to find someone who combines such strategic mastery with practical business development.”

Fiddes is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Honorary Lifetime Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing. He also writes and performs award-winning poetry, having had two books published by Templar Poetry, the most recent being The Rainbow Factory launched at Keats House, Hampstead, in October.
